Unique custom pillows with woven equestrian fabric panels from a quaint shop in France remind the homeowner of the luxury she experienced on her favorite vacation. The color palette of brown, copper and silver is consistent throughout this "Contemporary Western" ranch home.

A metallic silver wall highlights a well-worn saddle given to the homeowner by an aging uncle.

This lovely candle sconce was hand forged and hammered by the homeowner’s farrier.

Pink and black cowboy boots belong to the children who grew up in this ranch home. Modern silver accents give sparkle and interest, just as a beautiful silver bit adorns a hand tooled western bridle.

Double entry doors found in an old barn were stripped of white paint & restored. Modern accents blend with a petite antique chair upholstered with original needlepoint.

Rich color and texture from a matte iron surface, mounted on a metallic wall is a casually modern combination.

Exterior iron panels are brought inside to adorn a metallic wall with rich color and texture.

Hand applied color glazing on towering, hefty oak doors is the perfect Spanish detail.

The entry terrarium is still in process. Up-lighting and varying heights and textures of live foliage will soften and frame the equine image, creating layers of depth.

The "ghosted image" of the horse is painted with glass beaded paint and will be have an intense shimmer when lit.

A Chihuly- like chandelier and primary colored animal sculptures were the inspiration for this colorful and sophisticated home. First-class craftsmanship is evident in every corner, most evident in the focal point of the home: a one-of-a-kind interior fire pit vented by a glass tiled flue punctuating the second floor.

The velvety upholstered wall creates a warm, insulated ‘cocoon’ feel in the master suite. Geometric shapes are softened by the gentle curves of the gorgeous Dakota Jackson bed.

His and her height vanity mirrors are surrounded by glass tiles and lacquered cabinetry in the wife’s favorite color palette.

A vertical tile pattern chosen in lieu of an actual waterfall heightens the ceiling. A favorite glass sculpture is highlighted by a protruding shelf above the master tub.

Glass tiled window “frames” mimic the mahogany framed windows in the master bedroom. The walk-in rain shower is enclosed by a curved glass shower door.

A modern Asian theme was requested for the guest suite. A rotating, pop up TV is concealed at the foot of the bed. The flower pattern from the bathroom mural is dotted throughout the custom silk and wool carpeting.

The glass tile mural doubles as a semi transparent shower wall and continues the color theme. The perfect balance of colors and textures provides a wonderful escape experience for overnight guests.

Exotic wood, a gleaming glass sink, and a comfortable pebbled stone floor are just a few of the exclusive details of this beloved guest suite.

14K gold tiles from the glass wall mosaic are continued inside the walk-in shower. Custom designed safety bars were created, adding function without detracting from the design.

The downstairs powder room has an instant-hot, touchless wall faucet surrounded by custom colored wall tiles and an integrated glass sink and counter top.

Doubling as a guest coat closet, the laundry room continues the geometric theme and vibrant palette. Lighting soffits offer options for ambient or task lighting.

Radiating forms abound throughout the home and were inspired by the aloe theme of the tile backsplash. Two - 24" slim range vents allow the backsplash to take center stage.

The commissioned glass wall art balances the geometric forms in this family room. An elevator door (to the right of the sofa, not shown) leads to the upstairs.

Frequent fondue parties inspired the creation of this custom dining table. Electrical plugs and an up light are hidden within the 3 stainless steel support pillars. Endless details continue the Luxury Experience in this one of a kind home.

This colorful gallery loft is viewed by several angles from the first floor due to the glass walls surrounding it. The carpet design was inspired by glass tiles and the colorful menagerie of animals continues to grow.

The central focal point of the home is the exclusive interior firepit with a cylindrical flue covered in 1/2" iridescent tiles and polished stainless steel accents. The towering shape punctures the second story floor, continuing its rise through the roof.

The water feature above the curved koi pond grounds the back patio area with its simplicity and size. A fun outdoor umbrella combines with colorful cushions, Italian angelfish sculptures and vibrant blue lavastone countertops.

This rare Godin stove from France became the heart and soul of this inviting family kitchen. Layers of texture bring harmony to the space and create the warm feeling of "home". Tiles above the stove were hand painted by the cook herself. An in-counter steamer is located on the island.

One of 2 bronze sinks brings unexpected beauty to a normally utilitarian zone. Polished nickel contrasts with the earthy feel of the surrounding granite and travertine surfaces.

Grand and elegant in every detail, even storage for glassware is presented in an attractive yet functional manner. The granite detail at the base of the upper cabinets protects the painted wood finish from eroding over the years.

A hidden cabinet keeps frequently used items close at hand. The wife’s love of roses is conveyed in subtle details throughout the kitchen.

Grand in size, these under counter corbels on the island contrast with the light cabinets, creating a secondary focal point and grounding the kitchen. A burgundy and black glaze is enhanced by highlights of light bronze.

Drawers are the most functional under counter cabinet solution. Ease of use is enhanced with cup handles.

A handmade chopping block is located directly across from the French stove, conveniently housing the cooks cutlery and pots and pans.

Delightful details abound in unexpected places such as the open bookcase at the end of the counter. An open shelf is an instant invitation to help yourself, emphasizing the family spirit of this country home.

This family room is an honest reflection of the people who live there- warm, friendly and comfortable to be around.

This handsomely carved wood rose is a true piece of original art. The wife was instrumental in creating the leafy design.

The character of its occupants is reflected in this kitchen. No frills, just simple and to the point. Every wish was granted - soapstone counters, wood island countertop, and handy pull-out baskets. Glass cabinet doors were requested for ease of finding items at a moments' notice. Porcelain tiles in a medium value need little maintenance in this active area.

A bench reserves space for visitors while conserving space for everyday.

Subway backsplash tiles are a favorite of this avid cook. The focal area of these custom cabinets is the vent hood adorned with bead board and hand painted tiles.

Little piggies in varying configurations may greet you from time to time!

This painted and glazed island gives life and energy to this charming kitchen. The rustic red is reminiscent of an old barn, infusing outdoor character into an indoor space.

These painted cabinets are highlighted with a raw umber glaze, highlighting the simple lines.

Although they are in plain sight, frequently used appliances and cooking utensils appear orderly and do not detract from the simple design.

Ease of maintenance was of high importance in this space. The ceramic stovetop acts as additional counter space when not in use, and the luscious "hand" of the soapstone counters bring a necessary organic element to this kitchen.

Pull-out baskets make it easy to see if they need to be restocked with fruits or vegetables.

The large TV becomes secondary to the rustic red fireplace, the focal point of this family room. Again, items were chosen for simplicity and ease of maintenance.

An interior design investment in this grooming salon immediately lowered operations costs on the very first day of its reopening with its efficiency, noise control and overall inviting and cheery atmosphere. Specific zones were created for individual activities, improving workflow.

Custom murals, a bright color palette and a unique and functional product display in the reception area help to draw customers in the front door. Once inside, they are delighted and surprised!

Custom murals are painted with automotive paint and are very durable.

Leashes, collars or other items can be lightly attached or securely buckled to the chain link fence.

Up to 4 groomers are now able to work in an organized and functional space. The two little canines in the foreground are gazing out the large picture windows which proved to be a calming element.

Individual cubbies for each groomer keep their equipment separate and organized. The square operating windows face the reception area and not only allow the groomers to communicate with the front desk without opening doors, but also allow airflow, and gives them the option of closing the windows to keep animal hair in a restricted area.

Closed cabinets were installed in the wet area to keep supplies clean and organized.

The stacked washer and dryer were separated and a countertop was installed, giving a more spacious feel while adding a functional space to fold laundry.

Windows with character and shape are often hard to treat with solutions that do not overpower them or hide the architecture of the home. This simple fabric treatment puts the piano and the view center stage.

Simple stationery panels with hidden sunshades located behind a fabric covered valance give the homeowner several options for heat and sun control.

Textural details in the home called for a textured sunshade. As the sun changes position during the day, the color and texture of the sunshade material changes too.

This home had so much interior character that simple window treatments were the answer.

Decorative finials finish off the space and add to the existing motif.

The kitchen nook was also treated simply and elegantly, this time with iron rods and rings adorned with rosettes.

Many details were addressed in this angular nook area and a custom template was made. Although simple in appearance, these draperies required special attention for the outcome to be successful.

The sunshades are shown at varying heights on each window. Without a heavy valance to conceal them, the sunshades were installed beneath the arch of the window.

An "iron" detail above the patio French doors brought needed interest to this area, balancing it with the rest of the home.

Due to its location above a busy door, a “faux iron” material was chosen for its lighter weight.

A client sometimes calls Luxury Ranch to review a layout of a design created by another profession or to select the materials and colors of the space as in this charming kitchen. Quality ceramic tiles on the floors and backsplash were chosen over natural stone for ease of maintenance and cost, leaving room in the budget to splurge on the granite choice.

The rich, sparkling tones and textures in the Kosmos granite pick up the colors in the dining chairs.

The original cabinet design extended to within inches of the French doors which would not have allowed the doors to fully open inside against the wall. This important function outweighed the opportunity for more cabinet storage while also improving the balance of space between the family room and kitchen.

A metal tile focal point adds elegance and old world charm to an otherwise ordinary backsplash.

Stainless steel appliances are a backdrop to the rich tones, textures and sparkle of the Kosmos granite.

Textures abound in this kitchen- visual texture in the granite and tactile texture in the window treatment contribute to the successful outcome. Painted cabinets become a visual relief while highlighting those textures.

"Contemporary Western" is evolving to become a signature style of Luxury Ranch. The color palette of brown, copper and silver is inspired by bridles, bits and leather and illustrated in unexpected contemporary materials.

Silver layers abound: a silky coverlet ,a textured metallic painted wall, metallic silver headboard details and a Spanish pottery piece combine and create a luxurious visual and tactile experience.

Unexpected pops of ultramarine blue set this master bedroom apart from the average equestrian themed interior. A 50 year old metal horse “trophy” was earned at a local fair booth and brings back quaint memories of the owners childhood.

The color palette inspired by authentic leather and sterling silver is translated in contemporary faux leathers.

An incredibly luxurious ultramarine blue throw sits atop an antique footstool. The petite oak rocker with carved wood details is reminiscent of hand tooled leather. Repetition of form continues in the coppery scrolls of the drapery fabric.

A flat screen TV disappears against a silver wall due to the interesting textures and colors of the articles atop the antique dresser. The sentimental petite vanity lamp belonged to the owners grandmother.

The metallic sheen of the ceramic tile on the floor of the powder room is punctuated by a graphic strip of tumbled marble tiles.

A custom wall finish was expertly created to match the powder room floor. An iron towel holder lends an ominous eye to this interior space.

Removal of a wall between the kitchen and living room areas allows more interaction between the family members of this contemporary home. The back side of a 360 degree swivel television is located at the upper right of this photo.

Varying counter heights allow for more cabinet storage and also define the kitchen from the family room. Curved matrix granite combines with Eurostone quartz counter tops to create 2 separate yet similar focal points. Note the TV now faces the kitchen.

A vertical window punctuates this wall, allowing sunlight to flood the kitchen with natural light allowing the backsplash to sparkle.

The electrical components for the television and stereo system are hidden behind the lower cabinet doors. An attractive metal heat vent was smartly integrated into the design.

A shallow matrix granite ledge allows living room guests and family to interact with the cook without being underfoot. The unusual silver threads within the granite add visual texture and interest in the otherwise sleek interior.

Corner cabinetry with eco friendly silver panel inserts become furniture pieces. The neutral flooring and simple lines of the furniture allow the beautifully groomed patio areas to dominate the space.

Kitchen cabinets look more like furniture in the family dining area due to the custom shapes. The light neutral tone of the ultrasuede sofa diverts attention to the decorative elements around it.

The cast glass design of the entry door is repeated on the staircase. This same glass pattern was used in the kitchen sink backsplash.
